Dr n. med. Zbigniew Szczepanowski

Specialist in general surgery, since 01.10.2018 head of the Department of General Surgery with the Subdivision for the Treatment of Diabetic Foot of the Regional Hospital in Opole. Since 2007, after obtaining approval from the Bioethics Committee, he has been treating chronic, hard-to-heal wounds using the biological material Lucilia sericata larvae. In March 2013, he was awarded a Doctor of Medicine degree with distinction after presenting his dissertation: The use of Lucilia sericata larvae as a method of treating chronic wounds of the extremities.
